2023–2024 ACADEMIC YEAR

The Department of Economics, University of Ghana is inviting applications from suitably qualified applicants for its Master of Arts (M.A.) Degree in Economic Policy Management for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Graduates from the M.A. Economic Policy Management can be found in a range of sectors in the Ghanaian economy as well as in international organisations. In Ghana, many of our graduates have served and continue to serve in senior government positions, such as Ministers of State, Members of Parliament, Senior Public Servants, Senior Corporate Personalities, and in various walks of life in the private and public sectors. Our graduates can also be found in international organisations, such as the United Nations.

GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENT:

Applicants must hold a good first degree (at least a second class lower division) in a relevant field of study at the University of Ghana or any recognized University.

1. REGULAR PROGRAMME (FEE-PAYING):

1. TUITION FEE:

The approved tuition fee for the 202/2023 academic year was Ȼ18,410.00. This may be subject to review in the 2023/2024 academic year. All applicants will be required to pay not less than 50% of the tuition fee before the beginning of the First Semester.

2. LECTURE PERIOD:

Lectures run from 8.00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

B.WEEKEND / EVENING PROGRAMME (FEE-PAYING):

1. TUITION FEE:

The approved tuition fee for the 2022/2023 academic year was Ȼ 25,655.00. This may be subject to review in the 2023/2024 academic year. All applicants will be required to pay not less than 50% of the tuition fee before the beginning of the First Semester.

2. LECTURE PERIOD:

Lectures for the fee-paying Weekend / Eveningare held from 5:30 pm to 9:00 on Thursdays and Fridays; and 7:30 am to 6:30 pm on Saturdays and 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Sundays.

HOW TO APPLY:

1. GHANAIAN APPLICANTS:

University of Ghana application e-voucher can be obtained for GH¢220.00 via USSD Payment or at the following banks: Access BankZenith Bank, Universal Merchant Bank, Ecobank, Republic Bank, Agricultural Development Bank, Unibank,Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG), Prudential Bank,First Atlantic Bank,Ghana Commercial Bank and Fidelity Bank. Applicants should follow carefully the instructions on the voucher when completing the ONLINE APPLICATION FORM.

Applicants who did not graduate from the University of Ghana must submit the following documents online (scan and attach):

• Bachelors’ Degree Certificate and Final Transcripts. The official transcript should be scanned into one PDF Word document and attached to the application.

• Three referees’ reports are required (provide the details of the referees online).

• Scan and upload a Gazette of Marriage/Marriage certificate where name has changed.

NOTE THAT NO APPLICATION WILL BE PROCESSED WITHOUT THE CERTIFICATE/OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT OR GAZETTE/MARRIAGE CERTIFICATE WHERE NAME HAS CHANGED. The originals will be required during interviews.
If requested during the application process, all applicants who graduated from the University of Ghana from 1996 to date should indicate their ‘STUDENT IDENTITY NUMBERS’ on their forms before submission.

2. INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS AND GHANAIANS APPLYING FROM ABROAD:

   All expected to pay to the University a non-refundable application processing fee of US$110.00. This fee can be paid directly or via electronic transfer to the University of Ghana.Details can be found on the application webpage.

PROOF OF PAYMENT::

 

• The pay-in-slips together with applicants’ STUDENT INDEX NUMBER should be scanned and submitted to the EPM Programme Accountant, EPM Office, Department of Economics Annex.

REGISTRATION FOR THE COURSE:

• Note that without ’ paying at least 50% of tuition fees and showing proof of payment , it would be impossible for any student to register for the course.
